News & Press
For journalists, editors, producers, and institutional communications staff covering the Laboratories.
External Affairs can answer questions about public records, publications, Field Array participation, and scheduled interviews. It cannot strengthen scientific claims, preview unpublished conclusions, or arrange casual access to the Calder Ridge tract.
Send deadline questions through the public switchboard or the Contact form with the requested office in the subject. Requests that name a record, docket, report, or publication can be routed faster and with fewer follow-up questions.
Use for active stories, fact checks, interview requests, and correction questions.
Use for catalog IDs, report references, archive status, and citation questions.
Use for Field Array client, volunteer compute, installer, and privacy questions.

Use this language when describing the Laboratories in coverage, partner pages, event materials, or data-product references. Scientific claims should be taken from the specific release or public record being cited.
Fundamental Acoustics Laboratories is a private, non-profit research institute established in 1958 to study persistent low-frequency and sub-audible signals in ground, water, atmosphere, and sky records.
Fundamental Acoustics Laboratories operates the Calder Ridge Field Station and associated remote instruments. Its public work includes the Persistent Signal Catalog, Night Watch, source-backed research commentary, and the Field Array volunteer distributed-analysis program. The Laboratories classify retained records by observed behavior and review state, not by presumed cause.
Stratis, Inc. supports selected machine-analysis and release-packaging systems used by the Laboratories. Scientific classifications and public findings remain subject to FAL review standards.
These files are approved for coverage of the Laboratories. Do not represent masked screens, staged public-data displays, or archival rooms as live operations unless a caption says so.
