Frequently Asked Questions

General questions about the Laboratories and the public programs.

What does the Laboratories study?

Persistent low-frequency and sub-audible signals of unresolved origin -- in the ground, in the water, and in the sky. Most resolve to an ordinary source. A small number do not.

Is it open to the public?

The Calder Ridge station is a working research facility on private land and is not open to the public. The Persistent Signal Catalog, Night Watch, and the Field Array are open to anyone online.

How is it funded?

Privately. See Funding & Support. The Laboratories are not affiliated with, nor funded by, any government agency.

Can I contribute?

Yes. Install the Field Array client and lend your computer's idle time, or submit an observation through Night Watch.

How do I reach a person?

Call the switchboard and follow the automated directory, or use the staff directory to dial an extension. Written correspondence is welcome.
