The Bloop is often remembered as a mystery. NOAA's current explanation is more valuable: the broad-spectrum sound recorded in 1997 was consistent with icequakes generated by large icebergs cracking and fracturing.
FAL includes the Bloop in training because resolved anomalies are the best checks on unresolved ones. If a sound was frightening before it was understood, understanding it should not make the original measurement less interesting.
