IceCube's research program makes a simple point with immense technical difficulty: some events can be studied through particles that pass through almost everything.

FAL's work is not neutrino astronomy. The relevance is epistemic. Multi-messenger science rewards institutions that can keep different records in conversation without confusing one record for another.

The institutional lesson

  • A record should be interpreted in the terms of its own instrument and medium.
  • Cross-domain comparison is useful only when each domain keeps its limits visible.
  • Public summaries should explain why a record matters before borrowing another field's vocabulary.

That lesson matters in a catalog that spans radio, acoustic, oceanic, environmental, and archival cases. FAL can place different records in one public system only if the system is honest about what each record can and cannot show.

The point is not to make every detection part of one grand story. The point is to keep separate records legible enough that careful comparisons can be made without collapsing the differences between them.
